Program Philosophy
Our belief is that children learn best when they are actively engaged. Therefore, Earth Center programs are designed to expose and build connections between the participants and the wonders and importance of the natural world. All programs are hands-on experiences enhanced with games, hikes, and other activities.
Program Information
Traveling Programs can take place at your site, while Onsite programs take place at the Earth Center. Traveling programs are 45 - 60 minutes in length. Onsite Programs vary in length, depending on the program. Half Day programs are 1.5 - 2 hours long, Full Day programs are 3 - 3.5 hours long.
Please note that all of our programs have been aligned with the Ohio Academic Content Standards.
Pricing
Ideally, we would not have to charge a program fee. However, if we didn't,
we would soon shut down. We are a private nonprofit that relies solely on
donations and grants for support. We do not receive government funding of
any kind. Our goal is for no group to be excluded due to cost. For those
groups we offer needs-based scholarships that help to reduce the program
cost. The scholarships are limited and are given on a first-come, first-served
basis. Please call the Earth Center for details on scholarship eligibility.
Onsite Programs: Half Day programs are $3.00 per participant with a $45 minimum. Full Day programs are $5.50 per participant with a $80 minimum. Please note that the Native American Overview is $4.00 per participant due to cost of extra materials.
Traveling Programs: $65 per classroom hour plus $0.30 per mile roundtrip mileage fee.
