Scout Programs

The Imago Earth Center offers the following programs for scouts of all ages:

  • A variety of programs designed to help you meet badge requirements. Including a new Imago Earth Center Badge.

  • A chance to take advantage of some of Cincinnati's urban green space.

  • The experience of learning from and appreciating our natural world.


  • How to Register
    1. Decide which program(s) from the menu below fits your group's interest.

    2. Call us at (513)-921-5124 or email us at office@imagoearth.org with the following information:
    --number of participants
    --grade or age of participants
    --date(s) interested (afternoons and Saturdays are great)

    3. After you register, you will receive a confirmation packet in the mail with details about your program.

    Prices:
    Ongoing Programs: $3.00 per scout per program
    Or a $30.00 minimum per group
    Seasonal Programs: Prices vary, please call.
    Adults, chaperones, and tag-a-longs are free

    A 1-hour program covering Making the World a Better Place.

    2. Green Petal
    A 1-hour program covering Use Resources Wisely.

    Brownie Try-Its
    1. Earth and Sky
    A 1-hour program covering requirements 1-3, 5

    2. Eco-Explorer
    A 1.5-hour program covering requirements 1, 2, 4, 6

    3. Outdoor Adventurer
    A 1.5-hour program covering requirements 1, 3-5

    4. Senses
    A 1-hour program covering requirements 1-5

    Junior Badges
    1. Earth Connections
    A 1.5-hour program that will cover at least 6 of the following requirements 1, 3-8

    2. Wildlife Badge
    A 1.5-hour program that will cover at least 6 of the following requirements 1-8

    Cadettes and Seniors

    1. Let's Go Outdoors
    A 1-hour program covering requirement 5G towards achievement.

    2. Electives Package #1
    A 1-hour program covering electives 31, 32, 35

    3. Electives Package #2
    A 1-hour program covering electives 33, 34, 47

    Wolf Cubs
    1. Your Living World
    A 1-hour program covering requirements 7b, 7c, 7d, & 7f towards Wolf Trail completion.

    2. Birds
    A 1-hour program covering elective requirements B-E towards Arrow Point Trail.

    Bear Cubs
    1. Sharing Your World with Wildlife
    A 1-hour program covering requirements 5b, 5c, 5d, & 5e towards Bear Trail completion.

    2. American Indian Life
    A 1.5-hour program covering requirements A-C for elective #24.

    Webelos
    1. Forester
    A 1.5-hour program covering requirements 2-6.

    2. Naturalist
    A 1.5-hour program covering requirements 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, & 12.

    Boy Scouts
    Contact the Earth Center about how we can help troops pursue merit badges and service projects related to nature and the environment.

    2006-2007 Seasonal Programs

    Please Note that the registration process varies for each of these special programs. Please call us for specifics such as time and cost. Programs are open to all scouts unless otherwise specified.

    Fall

    Night Hike: October 13, 2006 (November 10, 2006 rain date)
    Introduce your scouts to another side of nature as they hike during the evening. Learn about nocturnal animals such as owls, bats, and fireflies and get in touch with how your senses change as the light fades.

    Junior Girl Scout Overnight Adventure: November 17-18, 2006
    The overnight program begins with a night hike followed by a campfire full of songs, stories, and games. Scouts will sleep inside the Imago Earth Center facility. Breakfast and a badge program are provided in the morning. In addition, participants will receive our Earth Center Badge.

    Spring

    Hiker Badge Day: March 24, 2007
    Junior girl scouts are invited to Imago for this one-day badge event. Scouts will fulfill requirements for the Hiker badge through games, hikes, and other activities.

    Night Hike: April 13, 2007 (May 4, 2007 rain date)
    Introduce your scouts to another side of nature as they hike during the evening. Learn about nocturnal animals such as owls, bats, and fireflies and get in touch with how your senses change as the light fades.

    Earth Is Our Home Try-It Day: May 19, 2007
    Brownie troops are invited to Imago for this one-day badge event. Troops will fulfill requirements for the Earth Is Our Home Try-It through games, hikes, and other activities.

    Summer

    Other Information

    Imago Earth Center Badge:
    The Earth Center is now offering its own badge. It can be earned by completing any two of the Earth Center's Scout programs. Add $1 per Scout to cover the cost of the badge.

    Other Programs:
    We also have a wide variety of other programs that can fit into other badge themes or can give your scouts a better understanding of the natural world. Programs include: Native American, Insects, Plants, Teambuilding, and more! Check out the School Programs page for more information.

    Service Projects:
